And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:19
Isn’t that the truth?
It seems everywhere we turn, the world has become cold, dreary, and dark. Men will sell out their neighbor if it means an extra buck goes into their pocket. They will rob, cheat, and steal to get ahead.
All the way around, we are a morally corrupt generation.
Yet, this is nothing new.
Jesus Christ is the light that came into the world long ago, and what did mankind do to Him?
They killed Him.
In fact, His own people killed Him, just as they killed the prophets before Him, (Mat 23:37, Joh 1:1, Act 3:12-15).
Unfortunately, evil men seek to remove any semblance of righteousness from their midst. This ensures they don’t have to be reminded of their own sins. This is why evil men love darkness. It conceals their evil agenda to prevent it from being exposed to the truth found in the light.
That’s not my opinion, that’s Biblically.
John 3:20
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Wicked men and the morally corrupt have one desire. To enrich themselves, to continually seek the pursuit of pleasure, no matter the moral cost. They want nothing to do with the light, lest it corrects their wicked ways.

Just look at our world today.
Morally has been tossed out the window, just as the Israelites tossed Christ out the window.
Evil and the morally obscure do not want to be reminded about righteousness. For them, it’s hard to live an honest life, one according to God’s Word. You see, His Law gets in the way of their own devilish thoughts and desires.
- They rather distort the truth, instead of following it.
- They rather focus on the now, instead of the Eternal.
Yet, that’s not the case for everyone.
That’s not the case for you.
John 3:21
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
As a God-fearing Christian, you have come to the light of Jesus Christ.
You deal truthfully with your neighbor and the world. You place the Word of God at the front of your mind and walk in His path, (Deuteronomy 11:18). You toss the desires of this world out the window, and dwell in the light of Christ.
For that, your deeds are already manifested before God, and one day, you’ll be greatly rewarded for them.
