This was a racist move right here and for the record, Portland is overwhelmingly a white population according to the Census Bureau which reports 77% of residents are white, 9.7% are Hispanic, 8.1% are Asian and 5.8% is black.
The department previously had a black female police chief which is an accomplishment since blacks are such a low percentage of the population.
Hey, black folks or any folks do not need charity here. If we start going down this road of handouts, we are not building stronger communities, but weaker ones. Communities where racism will comeback. Of course, that is the plan, divide and conquer so we cannot work together.
