German reinsurer Munich Re is boosting its gold and cash reserves in the face of the punishing negative interest rates from the European Central Bank, it said on Wednesday.

WEB Notes: Look how easily they lay this aside. Everyone thinks government has their best interest at heart. Think again. For the record, government is not the problem, big government on the other hand is.
WEB Notes: Not only do the governments of the world take far more than their fair share of our money through taxation, they take it through social programs like these. Even though most of us will never see a dime of it. We pay taxes essentially when they inflate our currency. We pay taxes at the gas pump, in the grocery store and the best of all… You pay taxes on the used car/home you bought even though taxes were paid for it when it was new. That home you think you own, stop paying property taxes and see how long you own it. All of these things have caused an enormous burden on people and will no doubt make it tough to retire.
President Barack Obama imposed sweeping new sanctions on North Korea on Wednesday intended to further isolate the country’s leadership after recent actions by Pyongyang that have been seen by Washington and its allies as provocative.
In a bid to raise cash, foreign central banks and government institutions sold $57.2 billion of U.S. Treasury debt and other notes in January, according to figures released on Tuesday. That is up from $48 billion in December and the highest monthly tally on record going back to 1978.
