WEB Notes: Notice their reasoning, “very powerful firearms”. Give me a break, any excuse will do. When things like this are said it creates a dividing line that people look at and think; ‘yeah, why do you need a “powerful” firearm?’ My response would be for the same reason you drive a 400HP sports car, because it is fun! Speaking of, the more power that car has the faster it travels which means it can be more destructive. How about city buses? All of that weight at high speeds can cause massive casualties, maybe we should ban those too. How about a terrorist wanting to burn a forest? Should we ban matches? How absurd would you like to go because these arguments can go so many ways if we open our minds up. It should be plain as day, they want to remove your freedoms. Firearms are the last thing that actually makes this country “free”.

President Barack Obama escalated his call that dangerous people not be allowed to obtain high-powered weapons Monday, saying the country needs more “soul-searching” a day after a gunman used a legally purchased firearms to kill 49 people at a nightclub in Orlando.

“We are going to have to make sure that we think about the risks we are willing to take by being so lax in how we make very powerful firearms available to people in this country,” Obama said. “My concern is that we start getting into a debate, as has happened in the past, which is an either/or debate.”

“It’s not an either/or. It’s a both/and,” Obama said. “We have to counter extremism, but we also have to make sure it’s not easy for somebody who decides they want to harm people in this country to be able to obtain weapons to get at them.”
