Bible Question and Answer

Bible Question And Answer

Welcome to our bi-weekly post Bible Question and Answer where we provide Bible verses, answers and advice to the questions and concerns you have. During the course of the last two weeks readers have submitted their questions and today we are going to answer some of them. So please join us and feel free to chime in on the discussion in the comments section below this post.

Before we get into this week’s questions we would like to point out that you are helping to spread the Word of God by your continued submission of questions. Due to your ongoing participation, these Bible Q&A posts have been read thousands of times. Without your participation, this section of our site would not exist.

If you have a Biblical or non-Biblical question you would like to ask, submit it now for our next edition of “Bible Question and Answer“.

Bible Question and Answer

Question 1:

Name: Jimmy P.
Question: Where is it documented that 1/3 followed Satan, a 1/3 followed God, and a 1/3 road the fence. Now I know Satan drew a 1/3 with his tail, which is with his lies, which is in Revelations 12.

I know God says those that are luke warm would be spued from his mouth, Revelations 3:15;16. I wanted to know if there was more documentation to this, thank you and I am enjoying your site. God Bless!!

Answer:

Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Thank you for the question Jimmy. We are excited to hear you are enjoying the site. We thank our Father for that and we thank you for joining us. I also wanted to give you a thumbs up for documenting your thoughts.

With respect to the third who followed Satan, there is not a lot written about this subject. You will find more documentation, but some of it is indirect. What I mean by that is you will find it in the Bible, but it is not written as plain as day.

For example, from Matthew 22:14 we know, “For many are called, but few are chosen“. You will find all throughout the Bible there have always been a “few” that followed God. A third followed Satan in The World That Was, but a “few” is not the remaining two-thirds. Two-thirds would be the majority, not the “few“. So we know there is more to it…

We went in depth on this subject in our study, “Satan’s Sin” and I would like for you to take the time to read it. It will really drill down for you on this subject and hopefully bring you the clarity you are looking for.

Question 2:

Name: Deborah
Question: What are some scriptures I can use to bring more faith and power to raise someone from death? In the OT and NT, there were many raised from the dead and I want to present these scriptures to the Lord as part of my time with Him.

Please do not answer if you do not believe that Jesus can do this.

Answer:

Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Deborah, thank you for the question.

I know you submitted a couple other questions that were variations of this. From one of the other submissions you did make it clear you understand, “God is the god of the living not of the dead.” Of course this can be documented in Mark 12:27 for anyone who would like to reference that.

You also mentioned you would like Bible verses on faith and strength. We have a “Bible Verses by Topic” section that I think you will enjoy. Within that page you will find verses on “Faith” and “Strength“.

Now to answer your question.

Jesus Christ certainly brought many back from the grave and He even defeated death itself when He resurrected (Matthew 27:50–53, 1 Corinthians 15:55-57, Hebrews 2:14). However, neither you or anyone else on the face of this earth is going to bring someone back from the “dead“. Only our Father has the ability to do that, you are not going to do it, period.

Remember, when we pass away our “spirit shall return unto God who gave it” and He has proclaimed “all souls are Mine” (Ecclesiastes 12:6-7, Ezekiel 18:4). Our Father is not going to help someone bring that spirit back into a flesh body. We all live one time in the flesh and that is it (Hebrews 9:27).

Finally, here are a few verses that document other people being raised from the dead in the past:

  • 1 Kings 17:17–24
  • 2 Kings 13:20–21
  • John 11
  • Luke 8:50-55

Notice in Luke 8, what did Christ say to the people who said the maiden was dead?

Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.”

Why?

As you stated, Our Father “is not a God of the dead, but of the living,” (Luke 20:38). That means far more than we might think… As soon as the maiden’s flesh body died, her spirit went back to our Father. Jesus Christ then called her spirit back to her flesh body and she arose, but herself, her soul never died or expired, only the flesh body.

No one truly dies, that is why Christ said, “she is not dead“. Yes, our spirit departs these flesh bodies, but our spirit instantly returns to the Father and it continues to live forever, unless our names are not found written in The Book Of Life (Revelation 20:15)

Question 3:

Name: Monday
Question: Brandon,
Thank you for this site and how well you maintain it and keep the information fresh and updated. I also always check the Friday question/answer section to see what others are asking and the answers you provide. It is such a great way to learn! I have a question about an observation I have made, but I am not the best at putting my thoughts/words/question together…I hope this will make sense.

Understanding what “really happened in the garden” with Satan, Eve and Adam….do you think/know/see the connection to what we are seeing in these days (last days) of the prevalence of “sex” related issues, crimes, addictions, and perversions? (Such as fornication, adultery, pornography, rape, incest, pedophilia, beastiality, LGBTQ, etc) From what I hear, see, read and understand–all of these issues are either accepted, celebrated, widely practiced or becoming more so, and protected. And if not at those points yet, they are definitely on the horizon. Connection to his plan from the beginning? It seems that that would this saturation of this issue and why it is only getting worse worldwide. I appreciate your words on this.

Answer:

Name: Brandon T. Ward
Answer: Thank you for the question Monday and you are very welcome.

Notice: Possible Adult Material For Parents Reading To Their Children, Read Ahead First.

Sex worked for Satan in the beginning and it seems to be working once again to bring perversion into the world. The sexual perversion has always been there, but it has escalated dramatically in the last 10-20 years and I would argue it escalated dramatically with the Supreme Court acknowledging homosexual marriage. Since that time we have seen homosexual marriage embraced and Christianity turned into the enemy.

Today, the Boy Scouts not only have homosexual scout leaders, they have “transgender scouts as well. Today, we have drag queens reading to our children in library’s and that is not even scratching the surface. All based on sex like you said.

Now Hollywood is being rocked by sexual allegations of rape, homosexual acts and pedophilia. It is enough to make ones head spin. So yes, I certainly think there is a connection here between what worked for Satan in the Garden and the events of today. As the scripture states, “the thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun,(Ecclesiastes 1:9).

Satan’s tricks are old and tired, but if we are not sharp he will catch us off guard with them. I do not think he caught you off guard Monday, good job making the connection and laying it out for us.

I do want to add, there is nothing wrong with sex in of itself. A Christian couple should embrace sex, it is a part of a healthy marriage, God’s Word makes that clear (1 Corinthians 7:1-5).

On another note, we know from scriptures such as 1 Timothy 3 during the last days wickedness would increase dramatically. The absence of God magnifies this and I am quick to add it is not that God left us, it is that we have left Him, as a nation that is.

Think about it. Consider everything you mentioned above and how many people do you know in your daily life that actually have a problem with it? Aside from pedophilia most people do not care about the list of abominations you made, most of them are all widely acceptable which is extremely sad, but that shows us when we leave God out, Satan will fill the void (Luke 11:24-26).
