WEB Notes: Christians are not footstools and it is far past time they realize it. Christ told His disciples to take a staff with them on the road (Mark 6:8). Why? To beat the daylights out of anyone who would cause them harm. Christ also told His disciples in Luke 22:36 to buy a sword if they did not have one. Am I condoning violence? Absolutely not. But you do not allow yourself to be pushed around by anyone. Always try and deescalate an issue, but that is not always possible and you need to protect your family and friends. Remember, Christ Himself laid a whip to the backs of the money changers and kicked them out of the temple (John 2:15).
