Concerns are being raised about those in Trump’s inner circle as the openly homosexual co-founder of PayPal and billionaire tech investor Peter Thiel is serving on the Presidential Transition Team Executive Committee.
According to reports, Thiel is sifting through his Silicon Valley network of entrepreneurs as he seeks to build a team of technology experts that will advise the incoming Trump administration on tech issues.
Some have been receptive to the opportunity, and some have declined.
“The chance to influence the government is a huge opportunity,” Jack Abraham, the executive director of the Thiel Fellowship, told the Washington Post this week. “There are people who are repulsed by Trump, and it’s understandable—Silicon Valley is very liberal. But it’s unfortunate [that some people don’t want to contribute] because this is a unique opportunity for smart people to inject ideas.”
