“I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.”
Start your reading with verse 25 and note it is perfectly acceptable to ask God help you understand His Word. This is why I pray for wisdom and understanding before studying His Letter. No matter how smart you are, you will not gain any Biblical understanding without your Father’s help.
What happens when we chose the way of truth? We gain Eternal Life with our Father in a Paradise of Peace. Choosing the way of truth is a life decision, it is a life change for many of us and it means you run your life by His Word. Not back sliding, though we do fall short at times.
Today’s verse goes hand in hand with Deuteronomy 30, please turn with me to;
15 “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;”
It is very simple, choose life or choose death. The choice is your’s. Know your Father wants all to come to repentance in order to be saved (2 peter 3:8-10). But that choice is up to you, He will not make it for you.
16 “In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.”
Listen to our Father and follow His Ways which is the Word of God, the Bible we read today. He loves you so much He sent His only begotten Son to fulfill Passover, to spill His Blood so you would not have to spill yours in the spiritual sense. Meaning through Christ we have the opportunity to obtain Eternal Life. It is right there, all you have to do is claim it and follow God.
17 “But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;”
There are always two sides of the coin.
18 “I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.”
19 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”
You have the choice, it is up to you and no one else. “Love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life,” (Deuteronomy 30:20). Follow our Father and be blessed upon the earth while obtaining Eternal Life in a body that never gets sick, old or dies.
Or you can be cursed for not following our Father. Look around you today, look at the people and nations who are refusing to follow God and instead they stand with sin and abominable things. Just because they do it and it is commonly accepted does not make it okay.
God laid out the choices no matter what man may say. Choose life or choose death.
The choice is yours.
