Leaked Supreme Court Opinion On Abortion Sets Off Firestorm

Just last week, Politico leaked a draft Supreme Court opinion concerning Roe v Wade, the landmark case which legalized abortion back in 1973. The leaked draft penned by Justice Alito said, “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start”.

This set off a firestorm!

All information now obtained indicates, the Supreme Court is going to overturn Roe v Wade.

This is major news on many fronts.

  1. Trust within the Court has been broken due to the leaked draft.
  2. Abortion law may revert to the states.
  3. Chaos may ensue.

Supreme Court Leak

The fact that someone inside the Supreme Court leaked this opinion ahead of time is of grave concern. It undermines the institution of the Supreme Court itself. Our Justices are now being threatened by radical liberals who are unhappy with their decision.

The fact of the matter is, you can never make all the people happy all the time. It’s not going to happen, mature adults understand that. Yet, the attacks on pro-life organizations have already started, along with death threats.

Unfortunately, when radical liberals don’t get their way, they throw a tantrum.

Generations of people have been raised to think, they always win.

While the liberals will continue to throw a hissy fit while this plays out, everyone should realize one thing. If the Supreme Court continues with their opinion, it would mean abortion rights are left up to the states themselves. Which is how it always should have been handled.

Look what else Justice Alito said in this leaked opinion.

“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision….”

Justice Samuel Alito

There you have it.

This is derived from Amendment 10 in the Bill of Rights.

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Most people fail to realize, the Federal Government was never supposed to be some massive behemoth that lorded our every move. The Federal Government was supposed to remain small and not interfere in the daily life of Americans.

Long ago have we forgotten such simplicity.

States That Ban Abortion

According to Guttmacher, 26 states are likely to ban abortion. An updated article indicates that 31 states have introduced abortion bans. CNN has a map of states that already have bans in place, trigger bans, and other important details.

This amounts to more than half of our entire Union!

Moreover, of late, the news has been riddled with states passing abortion ban after abortion ban. All in anticipation of the Supreme Court’s pending decision, thought to arrive in June or July.

Now For The Chaos

Now that draft opinion was from back in February.

Has the Supreme Court changed their mind since that time?

According to Fox News, the Supreme Courts’ decision “remains intact”. In light of the threats now ringing out against our Supreme Court Justices, Justice Thomas said,

We can’t be an institution that can be bullied into giving you just the outcomes you want. The events from earlier this week are a symptom of that.”

What bullying are we talking about?

Pro-abortion activists posted maps to the home addresses of Supreme Court Justices. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about this.

So the United States government which has a position about everything, doesn’t have a position when it comes to protecting our Justices.

Amazing isn’t it?

It clearly shows, as if there was any doubt, they are all for abortion and want it to remain. In fact, the Democrats are already cooking up a new law to ensure abortion remains legal within the United States.

This week, our government will vote on the “Women’s Health Protection Act”.

The bill summary says,

“To protect a person’s ability to determine whether to continue or end a pregnancy, and to protect a health care provider’s ability to provide abortion services.”

“End a pregnancy” means murder the unborn.

I want you to think about this for a moment…

Do you realize, more people have been killed by abortion than war, by multitudes?!

The fact that abortion is even a discussion point shows you how Godless our world has become. Yet, even so, we now have a surprising bright spot with this potential Supreme Court ruling. I must say, I will be surprised if it comes out in favor of Scripture.

Now that this has been leaked, there is certainly more pressure on the Justices to change their position. Then again, there has always been pressure in such a ruling. One can only hope and pray, that they do the right thing, standing by the Constitution.

Conclusion

In case you are wondering, there are several Scriptures that indicate, abortion is a sin.

Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.

Jeremiah 20:17

Our mother’s womb was never meant to be our grave. Instead, it’s a place where we are formed and nurtured until we are ready to enter the outside world. How people can fight to exterminate an innocent life is beyond me.

Despite everything we have covered today, I want you to remember something.

Abortion rights may very well revert to the states. The fact that we are even having this discussion is a fantastic reminder to you. To never give up. Never stop fighting for God and what He said is right and true.

So many of us have given up the fight and expect and even allow evil to win at every turn. Christians never give up, we fight right to the very end, and ensure someone grabs the Christian flag, continuing to march on in our place.

“It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
