That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
Isaiah 30:9-10
There is truly nothing new under the sun my friends. God spoke these words to the Israelites concerning their love affair with Egypt. Instead of trusting and taking counsel with God, they trusted and took counsel with the Pharaoh of Egypt.
God would say, “Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion,” (Isaiah 30:3).
And so it would.
Placing Trust In Government
Yet today, many Christians place their trust and faith in government, just like the Israelites of old. They adhere to every mandate and law, illegal or not. As if the government really cares about God and His Laws. As if the government truly cares about our families well being, as God does.
So history repeats itself, which we never seem to learn from.
Rebellious People Will Not Listen To God
Unfortunately, we have arrived at a point in history when men “will not endure sound doctrine,” (2 Timothy 4:3).
Instead, today’s rebellious people,
Say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
For the most part, people do not want to hear what God has to say anymore.
Instead, they rather become smoothed over with lies which set their mind at ease. Hey, our world is rapidly shifting away from God, and it’s tough to stand against. Standing for God is not easy, it means you have to stand against the world, and not many are up to the challenge.

Rebellious People Want God Out Of Their Life
So, God is old news, and today, we live under a government that is reminiscent of the Tower of Babel. A modern Tower of Babel which seeks to remove God from it, and manufacture decrees from their own will, instead of God’s.
So these rebellious people tell God’s People,
Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
Isaiah 30:11
The rebellious people of today say the same thing.
They clearly acknowledge God’s existence, yet they care less than little for Him and what He has to say. Instead, they want to embrace modern morality that tells us, “if it feels good do it”, and we should be “inclusive” and “diverse”.
All the while excluding anything that has to do with God.
Not very “equal”, “inclusive” and “diverse” is it?
As you think about these things and share them with your family. I hope you can learn from history. I hope you can learn from the mistakes of the Biblical past, and learn to rely on, trust, and take counsel in God, and not men and their governments, (1 Corinthians 10:11).
