Let’s Declare A Pandemic Amnesty

That’s the title of a piece over at The Atlantic.

I about spit out my coffee when I read that one! You won’t believe it, but the Covidians actually want “pandemic amnesty.” They want you to “forgive and forget” all the hell they put you and your family through.

Personally, I couldn’t believe the audacity of the writer.

The piece starts like this.

In April 2020, with nothing else to do, my family took an enormous number of hikes. We all wore cloth masks that I had made myself. We had a family hand signal, which the person in the front would use if someone was approaching on the trail and we needed to put on our masks. Once, when another child got too close to my then-4-year-old son on a bridge, he yelled at her “SOCIAL DISTANCING!

We ran into people like this during the pandemic, minus the yelling part.

Now the author is Emily Oster, a Professor at Brown University. You would have thought, someone in acedemia would have realized, a cloth mask would do nothing to “slow the spread.”

Here’s the next bit…

These precautions were totally misguided. In April 2020, no one got the coronavirus from passing someone else hiking. Outdoor transmission was vanishingly rare. Our cloth masks made out of old bandanas wouldn’t have done anything, anyway. But the thing is: We didn’t know.

We said some of those things during the pandemic!

Yet, two years later, this gal finally realizes it, and now she wants forgiveness for railroading the rest of us. I still remember diligently researching COVID during the pandemic. I remember writing articles like this one,

Facebook labeled that post “false information.” Go ahead, jump to the comments section on that article. I still have a screenshot of Facebooks’s label.

Then, we were continually downranked by search engines or censored from social media for reporting, facts. We’re still paying the price for that, like so many others.

Back then, they weren’t considered facts though, but rather “misinformation.” Today, they are facts to the Covidians.

“We Didn’t Know”

By the way, did you catch what Emily said, “we didn’t know”?

  • She didn’t know cloth masks wouldn’t help.
  • She didn’t know people wouldn’t get sick on a hike.

She didn’t know, she lacked knowledge, and concern for others. She lacked an understanding of our Constitution which solidifies our rights. She, like so many other Covidians quickly relinquished her rights, and others in the name of “peace and safety.”

Benjamin Franklin once said,

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

That’s why you never cave, you never give in when someone wants to give up your rights.

That’s the part that burned me up the most about Emily’s article, her saying,

“We didn’t know.”

How could this Professor not have known?

I mean, I knew, and I’m just a guy. I have a Bachelor’s degree, but it’s certainly not in medicine, but I knew early on, COVID was being hyped and exaggerated. I knew from the beginning, you never cede your rights, ever!

This is what Emily says next.

But in spring and summer 2020, we had only glimmers of information.

Woah nelly!

“We didn’t know,” and we only had “glimmers of information” in spring and summer of 2020?

That’s a lie, or the “Unapologetically Data-Driven” didn’t look hard enough.

The Diamond Princess

I still recall writing about the Diamond Princess cruise ship on March 20th, 2020. Remember, that was the cruise ship filled with retired people on vacation. COVID broke out on the vessel, while they were at sea.

It was the perfect example, how COVID was going to affect our world, before it affected our world. Yet, the experts blew it off.

A fiasco in the making? As the coronavirus pandemic takes hold, we are making decisions without reliable data

The world knew this on March 17th, 2020.

The world knew the fatality rate for COVID would only be 0.125% in the real world. Yet, Professors and medical experts didn’t. In reality, they knew, they just chose not to listen, and they caved into fear.

Instead, people like Emily used their clout to promote Covidian doom, while spooling thread to make cloth masks to “slow the spread.”

Even worse…

The Trump Administration

Who was the biggest purveyor of COVID doom?

None other than the Trump Administration. The Administration that brought us Dr. Fauci and justified lockdowns. The same Doctor who, in his own words, knew COVID would have a fatality rate of around 0.1% on March 26th, 2020.

New England Journal of Medicine

Somehow, someway, people like Emily had a “lack of knowledge” regarding these facts. Somehow, someway, Dr. Fauci looked past his own expertise and continued to press for lockdowns, just like Dr. Birx.

This Dr. Birx.

This Dr. Birx.

Yes, those people from that Administration.

The pandemic fractured our nation in two. The divide between the left and right has never been wider. The calls and warnings for Civil War are now constant in the media. The Covidians are a major reason for that, due to their horrific decisions that left no room for other opinions.

The Vaccines

Emily’s article continues.

When the vaccines came out, we lacked definitive data on the relative efficacies of the Johnson & Johnson shot versus the mRNA options from Pfizer and Moderna.

Everyone knew the vaccines were rushed. Everyone knew, they were not FDA approved. Yet, many were forced to take them or lose their jobs. America and the world lost it’s sanity and left no room for opposing views.

Nope.

Instead, those opposing views were labeled “fringe.”

Now, many have died, and millions have suffered side effects from the vaccines. Vaccines the experts, including President Biden told us were “safe and effective.” We were even told, if we get the vaccine, you cannot get COVID.

That was a lie too.

The Good Of Society

Look at this next bit.

Misinformation was, and remains, a huge problem. But most errors were made by people who were working in earnest for the good of society.

Does it really matter if you made errors while “working in earnest for the good of society”?

No, it doesn’t.

Everyone felt like they were “working in earnest for the good of society.” The fact of the matter is, that line, “for the good of society” has been used to kill millions of people. I’m not talking about COVID, but wars. That’s the pretext used in modern wars.

It’s why the United States is still involved in Ukraine, and it’s the reason the United States decimated Syria under “The Responsibility To Protect” doctrine.

Syria: Destroyed al-Khalidiyah Homs

But hey, they did it for the good of society.

Whose good?

The Element Of Luck

The “Unapologetically Data-Driven” Emily also said,

“In the face of so much uncertainty, getting something right had a hefty element of luck.”

No, it didn’t.

I just pointed out several public instances of data. It wasn’t luck. The fact of the matter is, people like Emily choked. They freaked out and unleashed their own fear on the rest of us.

She closes by saying,

Let’s acknowledge that we made complicated choices in the face of deep uncertainty, and then try to work together to build back and move forward.

“We” didn’t make the choices. It was people like you. You made choices when our Constitution said otherwise. You forced your will on others by using your clout and position. It was the science community that raised up Covidians, who before brought up Darwinians.

The same science community that now tells us, “science is gray.”

They failed everyone, by caving into their own fear and violating everyone’s rights.

They can never be trusted again.

They have no business teaching anyone, anything.

As Christians, we are to forgive. Yet, the person has to ask for forgivness, they need to say they are sorry, and truely mean it, (Luke 17:3-4). I never got that from Emily’s letter, and we’re not bound to get it from anyone else.

I will speak for myself, but I won’t be satisfied until there are trials for the crimes committed against humanity. I want to see everyone involved with the vaccines and COVID hysteria pay for what they did to us.
