8 “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.”
Some people say I will reach out to the Lord when I am free of sin. Friends you will never be 100% free from sin because we are not perfect and you most definitely will not be without sin if you leave our Father out of the picture. We should understand, we are already God’s, He created us and owns our souls.
9 “For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.”
What exactly does this mean Christ is Lord of the dead?” Lord” (Strong’s word: 2961) simply means to, “have dominion over“. Christ has dominion over death because He overcame death. Do not confuse this verse with the following verse,
38 “For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.”
Our Father is the God of the living, but Lord of the dead and living because He overcame both death and life in the flesh.
